The Te Ara Awataha town centre edge section is almost complete.
The restored stream, planting and new pathway will provide green space for people and nature, and easy connection to the heart of Northcote.
Te Ara Awataha – the path of the Awataha Stream – is Northcote’s new greenway. It extends from its source in Papa ki Awataha Jessie Tonar Scout Reserve to Te Kaitaka Greenslade Reserve and then along the edge of the school grounds all the way to Kukari pocket park. The missing section was through the town centre – and that is now almost complete..

Joins us to celebrate
To mark the completion of this section of Te Ara Awataha, there will be a celebration on Saturday 26 September.
The celebrations will continue throughout the September school holidays with a fun family trail, giving people of all ages the chance to explore and enjoy this exciting new connection through Northcote.
We'd love you to be part of it. Keep an eye here for more details coming soon!
