Deconstruction works at 10 Racecourse Parade, Avondale

Our contractors deconstructed the buildings at 10 Racecourse Parade as opposed to demolishing them, so the materials could be re-used where possible, or recycled. This reduces waste that goes to landfill and greenhouse gas emissions.

• Recycling of materials such as doors, windows and joinery to facilitate the distribution of these items to community groups and charities.
• Reusing of materials such as timber, metal and concrete. Timber suitable for reuse was set aside, while metals were sent to processing facilities for recycling. Concrete was granulated and repurposed for commercial and domestic fill for temporary roading.
