A big thank you to Zaelene Maxwell-Butler and Manawanui Tapuke-Maxwell (Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki) for leading the beautiful karakia whakawātea (blessing) earlier this week.
We said goodbye to the old medical centre and dentist buildings in Northcote Town Centre. And a big shoutout to everyone that joined us.
Goodbye to the old to welcome the new!
Over the coming few months, the old medical centre and dentist buildings in Northcote Town Centre will be carefully removed. This will make way for the final section of Te Ara Awataha – Northcote’s new greenway – starting in early 2026 and the future extension of Ernie Mays Street, at the end of next year.
We’re committed to zero waste, so we’ll reuse, repurpose, and recycle the building material wherever possible to reduce landfill waste.
This is all part of the exciting transformation of the heart of Northcote – see here.
