Are you the next Māngere Market operator?

The Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board is seeking a new operator for the Māngere Market — a much-loved part of the community for over 30 years. Held every Saturday in the Māngere Town Centre car park, the market has grown into a lively hub where the community comes together.

With stalls offering fresh seasonal produce, delicious street food, handmade goods, plants, clothing, and hidden treasures, the market reflects the rich cultural diversity of Māngere — especially its strong Pasifika and Māori communities.

We’re looking for passionate individuals, businesses, or community groups ready to bring fresh energy and vision to this iconic open-air market. The successful applicant will be granted a five-year commercial licence to operate on council land. This is a rare opportunity to build on the market’s proud history and help shape its future.
